Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg, beaten

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

4 whole wheat burger buns

Lettuce, tomato, and your choice of condiments for topping

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and beaten egg. Mix until everything is well incorporated.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty. Make sure they are about 1-inch thick for even cooking.

Preheat the Pan: Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Allow the oil to warm up for about 2 minutes.

Cook the Patties: Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the skillet, cooking in batches if necessary. Cook each patty for about 5-7 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the patties are golden brown.

Toast the Buns (optional): During the last minute of cooking, you can place the burger buns cut-side down in the skillet for a quick toast.

Assemble the Burgers: Layer the burger buns with a patty, a piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and any other toppings or condiments you prefer.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the burgers immediately while hot, and enjoy the savory blend of flavors with every bite!
