Ingredients

1 package (15.25 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping

1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix

2 cups milk

Gummy worms (for decoration)

1 small flower pot (optional for presentation)

Instructions

Crush the Cookies: Place the entire package of chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Reserve about 1 cup of the crumbs for topping; set aside.

Prepare the Cream Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth and creamy. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and continue mixing until well combined. Fold in the whipped cream (or whipped topping) until fully incorporated.

Prepare Pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk until smooth. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes to thicken.

Combine Mixtures: Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream mixture until combined.

Assemble the Cake: In a large serving dish or a flower pot, layer the cookie crumbs and cream mixture. Start with a layer of cookie crumbs, followed by a layer of the cream mixture, then repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with cookie crumbs on top.

Chill and Set: Cover and refrigerate the dirt cake for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Decorate: Before serving, decorate the top with the reserved cookie crumbs and place gummy worms around the top or poking out from the cake for a fun, “dirt” look. You can even place a few gummy worms on the sides of the pot if using for presentation.

Serve: Scoop out portions and enjoy this delightful dessert that’s sure to impress both kids and adults alike!
