Ingredients

1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

2 tbsp vegetable oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch (if using) until smooth. Set aside a small amount (about 2 tablespoons) for glazing later.

Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours.

Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Season with salt and pepper. Add the chicken thighs to the skillet, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

Glaze the Chicken: In the last couple of minutes of cooking, add the reserved marinade to the skillet. Let it bubble and thicken, generously coating the chicken pieces. Stir occasionally to avoid burning.

Serve: Once the chicken is cooked and glazed, remove it from the heat. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Enjoy: Pair this delicious honey garlic chicken with steamed rice, sautéed vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal!
